Majorelle : Best Restaurant in NYC

Majorelle

Located in the The Lowell Hotel, between Park and Madison Avenues and just steps from Central Park, Majorelle is an elegant neighborhood destination for refined dining in New York City. Inspired by the lush gardens of Marrakesh and the spirit of Mediterranean hospitality, the restaurant blends timeless elegance with vibrant, transportive design. Led by Restaurant Manager Guillaume Chamot-Rooke and the culinary team headed by Executive Chef David Thual, Majorelle offers a French Mediterranean dining experience that blends classic technique with global inspiration, bringing seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to the forefront of every dish.

The menu features a refined selection of signature and seasonal dishes, from gratin scallops "Brittany style" to slow-cooked lamb tagine with fresh vegetables and couscous, and veal tenderloin with mushroom tart, caramelized onion, and chanterelle mushrooms in a rich red wine jus. Signature classics, including grilled Dover sole with haricots verts and mustard sauce and Poulet Grand'Mère served tableside, remain central to the Majorelle experience.

Dessert offerings, crafted by Pastry Chef Matthew Lambie, include signature soufflés and a rotating selection of seasonal pastries. Chef Lambie also creates the Lily of the Valley Afternoon Tea menu in collaboration with Dior Maison, offering a luxurious assortment of pastries, savories, and teas in a timeless Upper East Side setting.

Guests can enjoy Lunch, Tuesday - Sunday, Dinner, Monday - Saturday, and Afternoon Tea, Wednesday - Sunday. Complementing the menu is an extensive wine list featuring Sommelier-selected wines and expert pairings from around the world.

Majorelle's design blends classic elegance and modern sophistication. Botticino and Carrera marble columns frame the restaurant, complemented by a patterned grey and ivory marble floor and vaulted wood-arched ceilings. Large, weekly-changing seasonal floral arrangements anchor the dining room, adding color and warmth. The year-round Majorelle garden can be seen from every angle and features fruit trees, palm fronds, and illuminated fountains, while the fireplace adds a welcoming touch. Bathed in natural light and accompanied by the gentle sound of trickling water, the garden creates a vibrant backdrop for conversation, clinking glassware, and memorable dining experiences.

Guests can enter Majorelle through Jacques Bar, where they'll be welcomed into an inviting space featuring leathered-paneled walls, an antique mirrored ceiling and a marble bar.
