Inspired by the beautiful Majorelle Gardens in Marrakech, Jacques Bar pays homage to the life and legacy of Jacques Majorelle, the French painter who cultivated his lush Moroccan oasis over the course of forty years. As all of the great works of art are set to outlive their creator, Monsier Majorelle's villa and garden was later acquired by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Burgé, who restored it into the world-renowned cultural attraction it is today. From ambiance to cuisine, Jacques Bar seeks to deliver the vibrant spirit of the Majorelle Gardens to New York City.
Step inside to discover an intimate, elegant and lively setting. Low mirrored cocktail tables allow for relaxed and conversational dining, complemented by the beautiful details of French oak wood paneling with leather inserts and antiqued mirrored ceilings that reflect the bar's warm, inviting atmosphere. Floors and steps of Botticino and Carrara marble complete the refined, sophisticated design.
Jacques Bar offers a curated menu of classic and craft cocktails, an extensive wine, spirits, and Champagne selection, and light seasonal fare, perfect for lunch, dinner, or evening drinks in Manhattan. For more intimate gatherings, 'The Cove', a small enclave near the hotel lobby, provides an ideal setting for private conversations or special celebrations.
Whether joining for a signature martini, a classic cocktail, or a glass of Champagne, guests enjoy impeccable service in a setting that evokes both the artistry of Jacques Majorelle and the timeless charm of New York City. Jacques Bar is a premier Upper East Side hotel bar, steps from Central Park and close to the shopping of Fifth and Madison Avenues.
