The 2024 New York City Marathon, scheduled for November 3rd, always promises to be an unforgettable celebration of endurance, diversity, and New York’s vibrant spirit. Each year, the race attracts more than 50,000 runners from around the globe, making it one of the largest marathons in the world. From elite athletes to enthusiastic amateurs, each participant is set torun the iconic 26.2-mile course through all five boroughs: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan.

We’re thrilled to celebrate with our community and guestsand to share that our Executive Chef, Michael Fred, is a marathon veteran,having completed over 100 marathons! With his deep understanding of marathon nutrition, he’s crafted our special Marathon Baskets to meet runners’ essential needs which guests will be receiving the night before. And for those cheering on their favorite runners, we’re giving outLowell baseball caps to show our support.
Diet tips for the day:
Preparing for race day requires dedication, mindfulness, training, and the right balance of rest and recovery—and diet plays a crucial role, too.
Chef Fred recommends a pre-race meal of pasta tossed with olive oil and a few key ingredients. His favorite additions include broccoli rabe, fresh tomatoes, parmesan, pine nuts, lemon, and kale, which provide a mixof carbs and nutrients.
On race day morning, Chef Fred usually starts with black coffee and water for hydration, along with a bagel topped with cream cheese and butter, plus hard-boiled eggs on the side for a dose of protein.
