Check Out a Romantic Broadway Show

Broadway shows are a quintessential New York City experience and lend a hand in defining the city’s rich culture. As one of the first streets ever equipped with electric lights, Broadway still reflects its original namesake with dazzling theater marquees and neon advertisements. This Valentine's Day, ask The Lowell Concierge service to help arrange tickets to a show from a selection of our top choices that tell the timeless tales of romance, true love and sacrifice. Consider classics like The Phantom of the Opera (the longest-running show in Broadway history), Wicked or The Music Man and after the show, the score will have you sweeping your sweetheart off their feet and dancing through the streets of Times Square. For something a bit more modern, check out new arrivals like Hadestown, Moulin Rouge or Come From Away.

Take a Lovely Central Park Stroll

A stroll in Central Park is the perfect activity during visit to New York City, so why not tailor it to your Valentine’s Day plans? Escape the bustling streets and take the family or a specific someone to the enchanting sites throughout the park. Begin your journey at the East 65th Street entrance, ideally situated near The Lowell, and captivate the younger ones with a ride on the historic carousel. A tradition in the park for nearly 150 years, children (or adults) can participate by choosing one of the 57 hand-carved horses or two chariots to ride as a fairground organ plays.

After a momentous ride, head north and walk through The Mall, one of the largest plantations of the American elm, and take in the fresh air and scenery that, during the heart of winter will be dusted with sparkling snow or winter frost. Take the stairs leading into the Bethesda Terrace and Fountain and take in the view of the Loeb Boathouse glistening over The Lake. For a final stop, make your way to the legendary Bow Bridge, where many romantic scenes have been filmed for movies such as Enchanted, Made of Honor, Miracle in the Rain and Autumn in New York. This is the perfect location to pause for an intimate moment with your Valentine and steal a kiss or signify your love by popping the question at one of the most romantic sites in Central Park.
