Delightful Curiosities at Creel and Gow, Shopping on the Upper East Side
As the self proclaimed “Cabinet of Curiosities” on the Upper East Side, Creel and Gow certainly does not disappoint. A few short blocks uptown from The Lowell, Creel and Gow sits on the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 70th Street. Inside you’ll find bits, baubles, and wonderful things expertly curated by Paris based Jamie Creel and former Sotheby’s expert Christopher Gow. Things you never knew you really needed until suddenly there is was before you exquisitely displayed in a sparkling bell jar adorned with nautilus and fleur.
Unique gifts for the hard to shop for abound, including this gorgeous collection of dutch watercolor studies of a tulip circa 1700.
If suitcase friendly smaller keepsakes are on your list, this tiny but astounding blue onyx bowl took our breath away with its depth and delicacy.
Inventory is also available for purchase online or by mail order, but definitely plan to pop-in the next time you’re in the neighborhood — you’ll be glad you did.
